Keep. Ditch. Try: Rebranding Our Podcast

If you’ve been listening to us for a while, you know we love a good marketing reality check.

After 150+ episodes and 15 seasons, we realized something important: while we were showing up consistently, we weren’t always giving small business owners the quick, clear value they needed.

So we decided it was time for a change.

In this episode, we’re pulling back the curtain and sharing exactly why we rebranded our podcast, what we decided to keep, what we chose to ditch, and what we’re excited to try next.

Because sometimes the smartest move in business is simply evolving.

The Big Shift: Why We Rebranded

Our podcast originally started as the 15ish Minute Coffee Chat.

Let’s be honest though… it was rarely 15 minutes. Most episodes landed closer to 45.

While we loved those conversations, we started realizing something important about our audience:

Small business owners are busy.

You’re answering emails, juggling clients, managing marketing, and trying to grow your business all at the same time. Long episodes can be hard to fit into a packed day.

So we asked ourselves a simple question:

How can we deliver even more value in less time?

That’s where the new format was born.

Welcome to 15ish Minute Business Fix — quick, focused conversations designed to give you practical marketing insight you can use right away.

In This Episode, We Talk About:

  • Why your wardrobe is part of your business tool chest
  • The subtle “it’s fine” mindset that keeps entrepreneurs playing small
  • Why dressing from the waist up (and pajama bottoms below) might be holding you back
  • How midlife entrepreneurs can redefine style without outdated fashion “rules”
  • The surprising connection between confidence and visibility

Keep. Ditch. Try.

The new format revolves around a simple evaluation framework businesses use all the time:

Keep – What’s working and should continue
Ditch – What’s no longer serving the goal
Try – What new ideas or experiments are worth testing

It’s simple. It’s memorable. And it helps cut straight to the insight business owners actually need.

Think of it like a quick strategy review for your business.

KEEP

One thing we absolutely wanted to keep was bringing expert guests onto the show.

We love hearing from people who are deep in their industries — marketers, business owners, specialists, and strategists who have real experience helping businesses grow.

Their insights bring fresh perspectives and practical ideas that listeners can apply right away.

Another thing we’re keeping?

Short, conversational, bite-sized insights.

This time we’re truly committing to keeping episodes tight so you can listen while:

  • Checking emails
  • Taking a quick walk
  • Grabbing lunch
  • Or between client calls

Real talk marketing that fits into real life.

DITCH

One of the first things we decided to ditch was long, drawn-out guest intros and bios.

You don’t need a full résumé before you can learn something valuable from someone.

Instead, we’re jumping right into the conversation and getting straight to the insights.

We’re also ditching the monotony that can happen after doing something the same way for years.

After 15 seasons, we realized we wanted the show to reflect more of our actual personalities — more fun, more energy, and more of the real conversations we have behind the scenes.

Because if you know us in real life…

We’re actually pretty fun.

And we want the podcast to feel that way too.

TRY

The biggest experiment we’re trying is the Keep / Ditch / Try framework itself.

Each guest will tackle one focused business topic and share:

  • What they would keep doing
  • What they would ditch immediately
  • What they would try next

It’s quick, actionable, and perfect for busy entrepreneurs.

And honestly?

This whole rebrand is also a real-time marketing experiment.

We’re testing.

We’re refining.

And we’re showing you exactly how business owners can evolve their ideas along the way.

The Mic-Drop Moment

“Don’t be scared to evolve what you’ve built. Leave space for it to grow with the way people learn and consume information.”

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your business is give it permission to evolve.

Your brand, your content, your offers — they can grow and shift as you learn more about your audience.

That’s exactly what we’re doing with this podcast.
