Kate Reimann is a mom of two, military spouse and rescue dog addict, ocean lover, and founder of Rogue Wave. She makes beach toys from compostable, plant-based plastic. After a day at the beach with her boys and almost losing their conventionally made plastic beach toys to a rogue wave, Kate decided not contributing to plastic pollution in our oceans wasn’t enough – She needed to be part of the solution.
Kate got to work ideating, designing, prototyping, redesigning, and eventually manufacturing patented beach toys using proprietary plastic that turns into compost when you’re done with it…which means no microplastics! Rogue Wave beach toys are showing the world that, with an alternative to convention, we can change the narrative – and the future.
When Kate’s not changing the way we make plastics, she’s teaching spin classes for an online spin app, surfing small waves with friends, hiking the trails of Oahu, cheering her boys at soccer and lacrosse games, or teaching Spanish!
